MELBOURNE, July 17.

A nugget of gold weighing nearly 17 ounces was found at Dark Corner yesterday by a prospector named Herbert Shumack. It is valued at £7O. A former prospector had cut a trench to within a couple of inches of this nugget, and another stroke of the pick would have unearthed it. A riehy patch was struck in this same gully some years ago," one get weighing 20 ounces being found, as Avell as several smaller ones.
