ESCAPED.
TWO MEN BREAK GAOL

OAMARU August 2
Between six and eight o'clock last evening two prisoners named John MoWilliam arid George idaiven Thomas, on remand ifor alleged burglary, escaped from the gaol. , They were allowed into a passage between the cells for exercise. They pulled out a lin. iron bar, and squeezed through the aperture. At a later hour there was no sign of the escapees.
