General regret will be felt at tho death, last week, of Mrs. Mary Mahoney, who died at Ponsonby.. Tho deceased was widely known in Wetland and Thames, where she had resided for many years. ' : .
' The invitations for the forthcoming Golf Ball are now being issued, and the function should prove a great success, judging by the number is-:: sued. The decorations are in capable hands, and great interest :• isbeing taken in the event. Mrs. H. H. Marshall* who has bean on an extended visit to Auckland, is' returning to Thames to-morrow. , ~ • . ; ~;♦)■' f DANCES..' r~ -y$ The St. George's Club held its fortnightly dance in St. Georges' Hall on Saturday evening, there being about 1 60 couples in attendance. Mr Williams' orchestra provided the music, while Mr. L. Flower officiated as M.C.
The ball promoted by Mrs., C, Doidgej which' was held in St. George's Hall last week, was a decided success. Over 60 couples attended, and the hall was- tastefully decorated with greenery and bunting; Messrs Flower .and Morgan were M.C.'s, while Williams' orchestra provided an excellent programme of musis-. Extras were played\by Miss Elliott and Messrs Prussing and Buchan. Dancing was kept up until a late hour.
