RE-TRIAL OF TE KAHU

(Press Association.) HAMILTON, August 2

The re-trial of Hakaraia t© Kahu, charged with the murder of Richard Elliott at Ongaroto on Easter Sunday, commenced at the" Supremo Court this morning before Mr. Justice Stringer. The court was crowded.

The prisoner was calm in appearance, and did not betoken any severe mental strain during his incarceration. He had put on a good deal of weight since the first trial, when the jury disagreed.
