Miller, Cox, Peterg, Newman, 'MoMaihon, Adams, AlTeyi, and Bateman. CORRESPONDENCE. The following correspondence was received: Pioan Public Works Department, stating that the Government would gilve a grant of £1 tor £1 towards the Kauaeranga bridge.—'lt was decided that the amount necessary be paid into the bank, and the Department 'be asked to urge on the construction of a, neiw bridge. Owing to the shifting nature cf; the sand by tlie wind if the scant. yegetaifcion is at all disfcuitbed m - removed the present road has, in, j order to escape a 10 to 20: feet high sand hill, been carried for a short distaiice outeiide the surveyed road. To attempt to (keep the road witßiin ! th© reserve would cost a •'consider-; alble sum, besides being continually subject to the damage caused % the shifting sand. Mr. Williamson, the-owner of the property..through which the road no^ 7 goes, 'is quite willing to aillow- the road to continue in its" present position if one jear's mtesi are iremitted.
