Sir.—l would like to gire-yoiul a line or- two in appreciationl of your recent effiorte mi walklingl oip •. our lotcaji. bodies, 'the IBorough, Council,-, County Council and Harbour Board, each to some sense of.their responsibilities in various ways, and -.if yoiu»ii would just, specialise in 1 roaclmakng for about one week, I believe untold good would result tfoerefirom. Take Tararu road for instance, which has had oome attention this last week. It {is beautiful the attempt made to repair this road; hunk s of metal, no blindingi no road-roller, just metal shot ont Why/? Wear and tear to vehicles and motor tyres, horses' - legs apd hfUitnaini (nervesi a.re not considered. Who is responsible. Thanking; you in anticipation, I aim, etc.,
