WASHINGTON, Marcli 25. Mr Hudson Maxim says Ke' is able to build a gun to shoot from London to Paris, but he doubts the value of "freak artillery." The editor of the Scientific American says a long range could be obtained by lengthening a gun to 150 ft, and usms; slow burning powder, but it could rot fire more than 25 accurate shots.—A. : id N.Z.
