Another old and highly itspeotea! Auckland resident, Mr H. N. Garland, ! secretary and treasurer to the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, died yesterday morning. Mr Garland, wasl born in London, and.landed in Ntelson in j 1857. He oaine to Auckland when the ■ Thames goldfields broke out in 1867, and was amongsfc those who tried their luck hero. For a time he was legal manager of various mining companies, one of ' which was the Alburnia* He was also j secretary for Dacre's Freehold. Mr Gar- ! land remained hero for 10 years, and thon returned to reside in Auckland.
