■i •■ MANY DEATHS RESULT ! ENORMOUS DESTRUCTION OF I PROPERTY OTTAWA, December 5. An American munition, ship collided with another vessel in the! harbour of Halifax. The munition ship exploded and both crews were killed. Tlmi oity waitei' trout was partly wrecked and great tires ai'e ragingl. Scores of dieiaths were causedasilioal©. Thea-e were sevea-al transports in ]Ja,Kfax harbour, and their fate is unknown owing to telegraph communication being interrupted. The latest reports indicate, that the explosion causied buildings on the waterfront to collapse. It destroyed tha tolegrapih and 'telephone installations within a. nidi us of thirty indies. Tlie roof of the railway station collapsed. The death roll is stated to be 50. Fires a»re sitdll raging. There is no trace of the remains of the mujiidtion eliip.
