SHOOTING AFFRAY.
RETURNED SOLDIER ARRESTED. (By Telegraph.—Special to Star.) MARTON, Jan. 6. A affray place .£ Marton Junction early on Sunday morning. A man named Robert Elder attempted to enter the residence ,of Stephen Fisher, a returned soldier. Failing in this, he was walking away when it is alleged Fisher fired several bullets from a' Winchester rifle. Onestruck a book in Elder's hip pocket, inflicting a flesh wound, and another bullet struck Elder on the right ribs. He was" taken to Wanganui_ hospital. No serious complications, .are anticipated. Fisher was arrested- and charged with discharging firearms with intent to do bodily harm. He was remanded till January 15th, -bail beingL allowed inhis 1 own recognisance on~£so and a surety- of £.200. L
