GERMANY'S HUMILIATION
EXPORTS CEASED. MANUFACTURES REDUCED. ' , ______ . i CRUSHING'FUTURE TAXES. " ! I (Australian, and N.Z Cable Association) BERNE, Jan. 7. Doctor .Scbaeffen, a pronounced ■ pan-Germanist, writing in the Leipziger and the Neuste Nachrichtefl, admits that iho Allies are capable o. dietetroying the Germans by economic-. al force. Already Germany's exports have, ceased, and of'her manufactures are stopped. It will •require years to patch up the industries. Germany's future will be crushed under new taxes. There is no- question now of the enemy having to pay the co&t ofthe war. Each will have to pay its own expenses. England -and Russia can do' so easier than 1 Germany, which would succumb beneath their development unless- the war secures for Germany a large territory to ensure economical expansion.
