GENERAL ELECTION PROBABLE. (Australian, and N. 7. CabJe Association) MELBOURNE, Jan. 8. It is understood that negotiations between Mr Hughes and Mr Cook for the formation of a national party hare terminated. Further developments are postponed until the Liberal i party meets .shortly before the reau■semlbling of Parliament, on February 7,th. It is generally agreed that Mr Hughes, will' not! attend the Imperial: conference as there are indications) of general elections for both Houses in April. .
