A Norwegian Polar expedition under the command of Cup cam Amundsen, will leave the Pacific Coast in June, 1914. The National Geographic? Society of America has voted £4000 to the expedition which will explore the Polar basin, a vast tract lying! between/Northern Ganad.'i and Alaslea and the Asiatic Coast, but the explorer expects also to reach the North. Pole.' .
All arrangements ai-e well in band i?or what promises to be a decidedly successful function m the Masonic Hall on Thursday evening next. We refer to the first series of euohre and dance parties worked up by energetic' members of St. Georges' ' Church. Some keen card games for which useful prizes are offered, promise enjoyment for all, and will be followed by a supper and dance.
