AUCKLAND, May 7.

In the case of Eimil Hansen against Michael Leonard, a cab driver, claiming £52, balance of £75 which plaintiff entrusted to defendant on a joy ride extending, over some days, Mr Kettle, S,M., gave judgment for plaintiff for £4.0.

He said the affair was disgraceful from start to finish. Plaintiff, who was foolish from indulgence in liquor, banded over a large sum to the cabman, who betrayed his trust. The Magistrate added he had no sympathy with the plaintiff and regretted he could noti band the money to a charitable institution.
