AUCKLAND-, December 8.

A fire at 'Eden street Mount Eden last night destroyed a six-roomed house occupied by Mlrs R..Riley. Two neighbours observed the outbreak, and found Mrs Riley lying on the verandah of the 'burning building in her night attire' in a semi-conscious state. She murmured there were three children in the 'building, and then collapsed. One child, a son of Mrs Marton (who is Mrs Riley's sis ter), was rescued from the back room severely burned and taken to the hospital. One other little :boy was found suffering 1: from burns, but less severely, "and the third child, a little girl, escaped without injury. Mrs 'Riiley. is suffering sevetvly from shock. The origin of the <lre is unknown.
