Eivans. Tlie police in the course of their investigations found am order signed T. H. Evans which formed the basis olf the charge. The la|sifc order he had given to the hotelkeeper who supplied the order connected with the present charge, was 'Christmas. Defendiaiit at the order of the dfourfc wrote his ordinary signature, which on being compared, was declared to be unlike the signature on the order -iroduced in court. The Magistrate eaidi the polide had failed to prove that defendant was the man who forwarded the oiridei* or that he had signed it. It was evidently a ease of forgery. The information was dismissed, but the police are making further inquiries, and' mere vill probably be heard of the matter.
