The East Coast Railway.
Mtr A.' Bi-uc«(, Town Clerk, wrote: "I have the honour by directiqn. of the Thames Borough Council to forward you the following copy of \ resolutioni that has been adopted by Ih© Council, viz.: 'That a suggeition be made to the goldfields lop.il bodies, to the effect that it iis'advisable to form a 'committee, to be call ed the Goldfields East Coast Railway Committee, comprising delegates fro.n the Thames and Ohineniuri County Councils and the Thannee and Waihi Borough Councils, for the purpose <»f collecting statistics and information that .w;ll aid in forwarding! the undertaking of the work of the.Ebst Coast Railway, and all other matters appertainingl thereto necessary ' towawis carrying-out th& object.' The Council consider that o> committee "of tha nature .outJinied in, the;-'--;"reeohitjoa, would be the meams of keepinsr public interest aliye contio;uou&ly, - and be ready io taike advantage of-a-very faivourable opportunity."
Council heartily: approves of the action amd will do all possible in tiie matter.
