At this morning's meeting of the Thames County 'Oooroeil a circular letter wns received from residents of the Hastings Riding requestiing that the Council clear 1 blackberries, etc., from, the road, as despite all the efforts of the settlers if the blackberries aflei allowed to grow m\ the County road .the birds carry the seed an-! it is impossible to eradicate the pest.. It was eocpTaiinied that under section H7 of the Public Works Act, subsection B, settlers are obliged to e'ear the noxious weeds from their own property to the centre of the County road adjoining, and it was deteided ihpA- the- petitioners' attention be directed to this AM. In cases •where Crown, land borders on the County road tEe Council is responsible for keeping the road clear, ?o that settlers receive full benefit for their work.
