' A' poll of tie ratepayers of Devonport, a suburb of Auckland, ' was taken yesterday to "decide (first) whi--ither the Council.should apply .for power to construct tramways in thy borough, (second) -HEhefcher such, order should be delegated; to the Devoaport Transport Company. The first proposals was rejected 1 by 13.1 to 1049, and the second by 79 to 1907. Fifty par <*nt of the voters" polled.
