- AUCKLAND, June 12, Benjamin Rowsell, a man about 42 yeavs of age, committed suicide last night He was n, medical man and held in high esteem by a large circle friends,^to whom his tragic death caused a great shobfe He had been travelling in the South Sea Islands, more especially with, a view to the study of elephantiasis. He had been in Auckland for the -past eighteen months . and . was especially well known as tWe seoreifaajcy of the St. George's Rowing Club* The proprietor of the Commercial Hotel, withY whom Rowsell had been rtiaying, received a letter this morning stating that his body would be found either at St. Stephen's cemetery, ParneU, prat Orakei. and asking the proprietor to cointnunicate | with, the police. Rowsell's body 'was i found at Parnell oemetety.
