At the No- 6 level of the Waiotahi mine, the development works on the Cure reef aire being pushed on. The leading stope over the drive westward fronn thie cTossciut has been, aarried along to wikihin <&, feiw feet, of the face of the drive, which has been r'esuniiedTh;e total distance dtiven. on this reef is /now 22#ft—'108ft westward from the crosscut, and 115 ft eastward- Thie chamberl to connect, the No-- 6 level with 'the Mary Ainu shaft is not yet completed, but will be early in next week, when 1 the conitinuaitioni of the drive eastward on the main reef will be resumed!- At Nc- 5 level another change has comic mi at tlie eastern face of the drive' om the main, reef, caused by a smooth hisiad croiS&ing, the reef- This heiad hnS' caused the reef to hi;-ave to the left, and 'beyond the disiurbaince'the'fcoiwall portion.'' is divided! into three branches- Ini-one of these colours of gold are seen- The hangimgwall portion has not yet been picked up beyond the helad, and as it. has probably be'eni thrown' further to the left, the foee of the drive fe being carried in that direction- The face of the drive is now about directly over the point where colours of gold •Were seen ait No- 6 level- Stopingi operations are being; continued; albove Nio- 5 leveV with thie uisu'al results, all the stopes in, hand producing good payable ox'e<- From the Nio. 4 stope (which! is •being' eaiiried eastward of Nio- 1 winze), very rich ore is being obtained!, and 2cwt -of picked stone wais 'selected on Tuesday last.
