Crushed to Death.
WHILE "JACKING" LOGS. We learn from a. Hamilton telegram, thatt a young man named Chas. Wynyard was crushed to death while jacking logs at Whatawhata. Information! was also forwarded to Sergeant Darby at Thames, the news being supplemented by ithe statement that it was believed the deceased's wife was at the Thames Hospital. iWynyard was a half-caste, and was said to be deq/idedly popular in the district. The inquiries made showed tEat some misunderstanding had arisen', as no trace of the woman could be secured, and it was evident that she had not comt- to the Thames Hospital.
