KURANUI-CALEDONIAN.

PROSPECTS EiNCOURAGJNG.

(By our Special Reporter.)

I visited the mine.this morning in company with the manager (Mr M. Paul). ■ I found Lucas' leader had been cut in the rise and colors of gold had been seen in the jrtone. This fact is not surprising as when work ceased in the winze from No. 3 level rich gold had been in hand. The country is still excellent and there is every indication that it. will contirfue. If,it does till the 50ft is driven to tJie Cambria reef there is almost a certainty the lode will carry gold. The prospects of the mine are on the whole most encouraging.
