WASHINGTON, September 28,, During the journey to Auburn prisou Czolgosz regretted the crime he had committed and pitied the widow. Hundreds of persons congregated outside -the gaol and made a rush for the murderer, intending lynching him. The guards with great difficulty protected their charge and drew their revolvers. Blows were' exchanged and Czolgosz was hustled in, but collopsed on the floor of the prison shrieking-in abject .terror. ' ' ,'•
