The Conciliation Board 'Award. ■ ■' "♦" —~ ... . WAIHI REJECTS THE FINDING. In. our last issue we referred to the fact that the delegates from the several branches of the Miners' Union could not agree on the question of the recent award in the miners' dispute, and' that a ballot would •be taken. The Karamgahake branches has rejected the award, and if the Waihi . branch take the same course as these together have a larger number of members than the Thames and Coromantiel combined, it is verylikely the ballot will result in the Union as a whole refusing to accept the award of the Conciliation Board. The Waihi branch has posted the following notice ou the "Union ■ Hall door:—"This Branch of 'the-' Thames Miners' Union have decided that on and after Mon-j day, 24th inst., they will not tender ■ for all mining contracts in Waihi, j and request all members in partic'u* lar, and all who hold Union principles : dear, to refrain, from tendering. The hearty co-operation of j one and all is specially requested to assist the "Union in obtaining a fair living wage 4 or the district, and thus protect men who have hftherto been compelled through force of circumstances to work for less than ai fair recompense."
