THE TAIRUA DISTRICT.
•Mr Josnua Jackson and Mr Aslitor. passed through the Thames on Saturday on their way to Tah-ua to inspect a new find in. which they arc interested. For some time past tht Taniwha Syndicate has had men" prospecting an area of land situated between the Chelmsiord and Tairua Broken' Hflls properties!, near the third branch of the Tairua River. Already three reefs have been located on the surface, one called No. 2, giving good looking stone, showing coarse gold. This reef is about 8 inches at the outcrop, and as it prospected so well a winze wifts aunk upon it for a few feet, and the reef improved in value downwards. It was proposed to sink the winie about 53ft, to prove the reef further, and then put in a drive from $ie side of the hill, which should, within. lHft, cut all three lodes. HAtfRAKI (Coromandel).
