The Colchester Murder.
1 BLATCH OR LILLY WHITE?
LONDON, May 3,
A question which is a good deal exercising the Town Council of- Colchester, is, "What has become of the two detectives who were sent to New Zealand to arrest the man. described as Blatch?" otherwise Liliywhite, on suspicion of being the perpetrator of the mysterious Colchester murder. This question was actually put at the meeting of the Council a day or two | ago, and the member who put Jit suggested that the time had arrived When the Watch Committee should offer a reward for the discovery of the missing detectives. The Watch Committee, however, flatly declined to be "drawn," and politely informed the inquisitive councillor .that no infor-1 matioh, was at present available. There ; seems to be a growing impression in the Old Country that the case will prove one of mistaken, identity. If so the New Zealander will have a considerable claim, against the\ authorities for the blunder made.
