SERIOUS' ACCIDENT AT WAIHI.
A THAMES MINER INJURED.
h F. Le Manquis,; ai old Thames and Coromandel miner,,met with a most distressing accident at Waihi yesterday afternoon. Iff Manquis, who is anrplderljr.jman,/4.ftd been employed painting Berridge's 1 stables,' and was at the time of the accident painting the big sliding door at the entrance to the stables, when the door slipped awax from the groove and fell. It struck Le Manquis heavily to * the ground, and caused dislocation and fracture of the hipiarid thigh besides other -minor injuries.* The unfortunate sufferer • was immediately attended by Dr. Guiunejs> who fixed up the man's injuries and made him as comfortable as circumstances would allow.- ' The injiry is such as to necessitate long treatment, consequently it was thought advisable to send Le Manquis to the Thames hospital, where he wss taken last night.
