WELLINGTON, J^ne 19. During the afternoon his Royal Highness received.; numerous deputations, ,^lio .presented him with addresses''from citii'ehs and'public bodies in .the central portion of the colony. The, deputation in every .case consisted of four persons. They were received in the ball-room of j Government House, where, their Highnesses stood on.,dais with Lord and Lady Ranfurly and members of the suite. , ,* .. ' ' . After all the addresses had been presented tte deputations formed a group close to the dais, and his Highness made a speech in reply, expressing his thanks for the loyal and kindly sentiments expressed in the addresses. He expressed the pleasure he had derived from .meeting the Maori people and viewing the volcanic districts .6f/.#ie. North Island, ana said he regretted that time did not permit them -visiting•. the ■ Marlborough Sounds. His.
