WELLINGTON, February $5. The Agricultural Department have received the following cablegram:—The British Consul at Manila report the half., yearly export of hemp to 31st I)ecembe|'* j 1900, as 358,157: bales. The. stock; in I hand at the end of December 250,950 -bales.
SLY GROG SELLING. Sue Hong waajfined £10 this morning for sly grog selling.
THE GOVERNOR'S TOUR.
The Governor "leaves "■Wellington for tho North to-morrow, and will travel by rail through-the iWairarapa to;the Mako.hine viaduct, and,- from . theye ,will..drive to Te Aroiha via Taupp,, ; [ Rptorua, Tauranga and Katikati. AtTe Aroha he will tako the train for Auckland, where he will stay five or six days; ;: He intends to travel from Auckland to Te Kuiti by rail, and then drive thence to PalmerstojiNortb via A\vukino, New Plyihouthj and Hawera. The trip is expected to occupy six weeks. j
