for the Waihi District.

MIJNKS,

1. That the week's work consist of 46 Coura for men working day shift and afternoon shift, and 47 hours for men working nighb shift. Work to commence at 1 a.m. on Monday and cease at 8 p.m on Saturday. Hours for aIL surface men to be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturdays from Bam to 2 p.m. 2. That the rate of pay be as follows ; : Shift bosses* 12s per day, filling in bosses 10s, enginedrivers 11s, miners in shafts 10s, miners in topes anS drives 9s, chamber men 9s, brace men 95,.. miners in rises 9s 6d, miners in winzes 9s 6d, mullockers 8s 6d, rock drill men 10s, blacksmiths 11s, carpenters 10s 6d, timber men 10s, winders 10s 6d, firemen 9s, tool sharpeners 9s truckers 8s 6d, surface labourers 8a 6d pit and pump men 12s, fitters 11s 6d. 3.' That in wet shafts and other wet workings six hours be be the recognised day's work. 4. That the proportion of boys employed shall not exceed one boy to every five competent miners. 5, That all overtime to be paid for at the rate of time and a half, and all Sunday work at the rate'of double time. 6. That boys between the ages of 16 and 18 years of, age to be paid full wages as per schedule. 7. That no person under the age of. 18, years be placed in. a responsible position as braceman or cham berman. 8. That no contract work be allowed in mines for underground work. 9. That preference of employment be given to members of the Union, provided they are equally qualified with non^members to. do/the particular work required and are able and willing, to do it. BatteryRepairers (dry): Foreman repairer lls assistants 10s, (wet) foreman repairer 10s assistants 9s. Crushers (dry): Crusher fen lls, all truckers (in dry) 10s (wet) crusher men 10s, all truckers (dn> wet) 9m Kilns (dry): Kiln boss lls, assistant and firewood hands 9s. Engineers and Fitters: Fitters and turners 12s, first class engine drivers IBs, second class 10s. Over 50 hpa- fireman- to be provided. Firemen up to 100 h.p. 9s, over 100 h.p. 10s blacksmiths 12s, strikers 9s, carpenters lls 8d if working in dust 12s Bd. plumbers i2s sawyers (head) 12s, sawyers (tail) -9s labl ourers (all round) 8s 4d. Sundays' and holidays double time. Ordinary overtime, time and-a half.
