Lord Methueri has captured at Brakpan 130Q cattle and 1000, sheep. A party of Imperial Yeomanry sur prised and captured a Boer outpost at Bethlehem bayonetting five. The Boers stubbornly defended for six Lours a strongly fortified position at Hartbeeatefontein extending over an area of ten miles. There was much fighting at close range, and the Boers only retired when both their flanks were turned.
