The Indian Contingent.

NAPIER, February 23.

The reception of the Indian troops was 1 completely spoiled by the rain. The official ceremony on the Marine Parade was abandoned and the visitors assembled in the drill shed, to which t3ie townsfolk flocked. Half of. the contingent leave for New Plymouth, at 4 p.m., the remainder go to Wellington to-morrow morning.

The Caledonian Championship meeting was also postponed till to-morrow.
