Waihi Foresters' Sports

WAIHI, January 2.

The annual sports of the local Waihi Lodge were held in Worth's paddock yesterday. There was a large attendance of the public. A most successful social was held in Tanner's Hall during the evening. Ino following are the results of the races aud of tiie competitions:

Girltf Race, under 16.— R. Brunton 1, A. Parkinson 2.

Grinning through, a horse collar.—Mr Ju!7v \. Local "Foresters' Handicap.—W. Ailsbie.

Tug-of-War (Foresters v. Allcomers).— Won by Allcomers.

Boys' Sack Race.—R. Morgan 1, E, Hunt 2, Thorborne 3.

Friendly Societies' Race Handicap.— Power 1, Collins 2, Samson 3. Power was noii qualified to run, therefore the prize goes to Collins.

Boys' Swimming Race.—Mullins 1, W. Henderson 2.

Obstacle Race.—T. Clarke 1, R. Armstrong 2. Ladies* Egg and Spoon Race.—Miss Porch 1, Mrs Manly 2.

Baby Show (biggest baby).—A. Samson 1, Mfttheson 2.

Prettiest Baby.—A. Ca.tb.ey 1, H. Connolly 2. Boys' Hat and Coat Race.—A. Johnson 1, Ritchie 2.

Old Buffer's Race.—Colebrook 1, McGill 2, Hansen 3.
