BOERS CAPTURE A STRONG POSITION.
ONDON, December 31. The Boers on Saturday captured Helvetia, a strong position on the Machado-dorp-Lydenburg railway, held by a detachment of the Liverpool regiment, whose casualties were fifty, besides two hundred made prisoners.
