Major-General French is>. at Ventersdorp. • . Of the missing troops at Nooitgedacht seventeen of the Black Watch were killed. - Lord Blackwood was wounded severely in the chest during the Lancers' attempt to outflank Kruitsinger. Lieut.-Colonel Spragge, who command ed the battalion of Irish Yeomanry which surrendered at Lindley, and Lieut. Woodhouse, have resigned their commissions as the outcome of the reopening of the matter.
