The Britisih trenches at Warrenton wera heavily but harmlessly shelled,on- Friday. t

The rebels are awaiting a favorable opportunity of rising. The Times states that-Lord -Roberts* expected that raiding would be commenced the .moment his advance halted, galffthp enemyfs object failed,. Lord Roberts refusing'-to engage. Lord Methuen sent a flying column east of Zwaitkopjes fountain. The enemy retreated the moment theywere outflanked.

He received a thousand telegrams, including one from the Queen.
