At the Ohau enquiry W. T. Young, representing the teamen's Union of New Zealand in Wellington,' deposed that he was an A.B. on the Taupe in 1895., The Taupo and Ohau were praeticaliy one as far as build was concerned. In his opinion the class of vessel to which they belonged were very bad sea vessels.
