We (the Te Aroba Newa) were waited upon yesterday by a deputation of Maoris, who with great volubility, and a, variety of gestures, explained that we had made a misl ake in the nanw of the woman who was charged at, the Court the other da [ with» attempted suicide It appears that we stated the woman's name aa Maria Peka, which is just where we made the mistake, as the correct name is Mere An» Peka, a different woman altogecher. We trust bhis explanation will be accepted by Maria, to whom.tne error in identity bay given much pain, more especially as sh was .careful, to explain that ahe would no think of doing such a thing
