Williams and party have completed a crushing of ten loads of quartz from their tribute block at the surface level for a I'eturn of sozs 18dwts oi onelted gold, the value of which is ,£K Is 6d. J. Wilton, another tributer, treated two loads of ore^ frolm whicli 4ozs of gold, worth Jill, was won. '. MOANATAIRI. A trial crushing of a small parcel of ore won froim the leader at the Cambria section, was completed to-day and the goid banked. The return will not be available for a few days. MAY QUEEN-HAURAKI. Excellent progress, considering th(. hard nature of the country, has beei: made with the sinking of the Queer of May shaft, which is now down 102 feet below the No. 6 . level, the depth required for the No. 7 level. A well hole is now being cut out, and when this work is completed the cutting- out of the chamber for the No. 7 level will be started. Crosscut ting will then be «om/nienced for the No. 4 reef. The No. 1 winze on the subsidiary shaft is down "to a depth of 61 feet. At the Saxon section work is proceeding as usual. The tributen are breaking out quartz for anothei crushing.
