The Fire Brigades' Conference has decided to recommend each brigade in the colony to hold a public meeting to ventilate the Fire Brigades' Bill, which provides for the maintenace of the fire service of the colony.

1 At the conference Mr. Smith of Christchurch said he understood that all brigades were to be invited to the Paris Exhibition Conference, and he moved that if possible the association be represented by a team or otherwise.

This was carried, and a committee was set up to devise ways and means.

It was decided to hold the demonstration and conference in Christ church in 1900, being jubilee year. Superintendent Smith of Rangiora w.-K elected president.
