; -«i SATURDAY'S SPORTS. > The Thames Cycling iandTouring Olub held their summer,meeting at Dodd's Paddock, Parawai.; on .Saturday, under most favorable circumatan/ ces. The weather, although somewhat •warm, was delightful,?,he attendance was good, Auckland being well represented, a number of excursionists ha ?- ing arrived fron> that city in the morn, ing. The meeting, from, a sporting point of view, was one of the best that has been held at Parawai for a long time. The finishes in the majority of the events were very close,,and a good deal of enthusiasm.was shown. The cycle track was in splendid order, in fact it could hardly have been in better condition. The following were the officials, and they are certainly deserving of great credit for the highly successful manner in which they carried out the arduous duties undertaken by them :—Judges : Messrs EL. J. Greenslade (Mayor), J. Jordan, and Wm. Woodward; Starter, Mr E. Nordon : ; Handicapper, Mr W. B. Eyre , Time keepers, Messrs O'Dowd and Draffin; Lap'taker, Mr Dunn; Management Committee, Messrs J. B. 0' Sullivan, R. E. McGregor. E. 1 Nordon, W. Woodward, W, Greenslade, and W. J. Irwin, the latter, also being acting Secretary and Treasurer. Graham .. .. ..1 Andrew .. .. •• 2 A very nasty fall occurred in the last round of this race when turning the bend to come into the straight. G. Moy, who was leading, fell, bringing down Coombes, O'Sullivan, and , Hyaniason. The latter, who was coming at a very fast pace, was thrown [ against a post of a dividing fence, and received some nasty bruises, but his machine was only, slightly buckled. 0' Sullivan, Coombes, and Moy escaped with a few flesh wounds, while the machinee of the two former were more or less damaged.
