Dudley Colliery Disaster.

Press Association—Electric Telegraph -Copyright.

Sydney, March 25.

The consensus of opinion is that the explosion in the Dudley pit occurred ia a part of the mine that has not been worked for some time, in which rails were being laid down with a view to resumption of work at an early da|e.

The fire at the Dudley mine is now extensive, and tbe search for .the remaining bodies has been abandoned. Smoke is belching from the pit mouth. It has been decided to flood the mine immediately, this being the only way to cope with the fire. SYDNEf, March 26

The Dudley pit is being sealed down, as work is attended with very great danger. It is feared a gigantic explosion will take place owing to the fire. Three hundred mineis have been thrown out of work by the disaster.
