McNeil, a prospector at Boat| Harbor, has crushed for 9£ozs retorted 5; gold. -v; PAYMENT OF MINERS. ' In connection with the question; of 1 payment of miners' wages and tb»j alterations suggested by the Chambtx^ of Commerce, the Goldfields CommittM^ of the Chamber of Mines has passed*' the following resolution on the matter :» " That as the proposed alteration 'iup the system of paying wages wouldj entail considerable additional cost and| risk to the companies, and as noj, objection has been raised to the present:, mode of payment by the miners, tht| Committee recommends that the Coudr^ cil should adhere to its determination-^ not to support the proposal." .\
