ANNIVERSARY ENTERTAINMENT.
The anniversary entertainment in connection with the Unseotarian Church was held last night in St. George's Hall, and was in every respect a greater success than any previous one. The hall had been tastefully decorated with ferns, flowers, and a number of flags, and looked very pietty. The following programme was carried through very successfully, the audience showing their hearty appreciation by frequent applause, and by a number of encores :—Duet, by Misses Dunne and Peat; song " Widow McCarthy," by Mr Hastings; song " The Old Countree," Miss Wood; dance " The Shantrewß, " by Miss Miller, which was encored ; soug " The Longshore man," MrMarris; recitation, "Woman's Curiosity, ' Miss Peat ; violin solo, Master Vowles; song " Apart," Miss Plant; dance " Highland Fling, " Misses Miller and Miss Gibb (encored); song '• Two Nightingales," Miss MeQuade ; a mandolin duet by Misses Smith (Sydney) and Styak, accompanied by Miss Hague-Smith, -was encored. Miss Thomas gave as a rerecitation " Little Lizzie." The duet by the Misses McEnteer, "Life's Long Dream is o'er" was encored, and the song, ♦' Forget thee not" by Mr Vowles brought the concert to a clobe. Most of the accompaniments were j given by Miss Styak. All did their parts exceedingly well, and it would be invidious to mention any one specially. After the refreshment the young people enjoyed dancing for a couple of hours. All seemed to spend a very sociable and pleasant evening. Great credit is due to the young ladies, Misses McQuade, Peat, and Styak, who got up the musical part of the programme, and to all who assisted in makiug the entertainment so successful and enjoyable.
