Police Court. — This Day.
At the Police Court this morning before H. C Gilleapie, Esq., J.P , the man Philip Owen, who was charged on Tuesday last with wandering in a demented state on the mud flat between Mary Btr6et and Shortland Wharf, and remanded for seven days for medical treatment, was again before the Court. He appeared to be in a much better state of mind, and it being his first time before the Court, the Bench discharged him on paying costs amounting to £3 7s.
William Reardon was charged with drunkenness and also damaging a door in Davy street, the property iof Christian Christensen. Accused j pleaded guilty to both charges. For j the first offence the Bench fined him 10s and costs 2s, and for the second ; charge ■he was ordered to pay the damages to the door amounting to 30s, and costs 7s, or in default 24 hours in Shortland gaol. Accused I was allowed until Thursday to pay the j amount. I
