Navxer, March 28

Heavy rain set in on Friday night and Saturday, continuing unabated all Saturday night, and at intervals on Sunday. Reports from Pakowhai, Papakura, Meanee, and other places state that in those localities the water, when the flood was at its highest, was several feet deep, and the Tutaekuri rose 3ft within two hours ou Saturday. The Taupo road is blocked, the two approaches to the valley having been washed away. Landslips arc reported in various parts of the district.
