Mr E. Kersey Cooper arrived in town from Te Aroha. He is looking well after his recent trip to the Old Country. It is propessd to fix Saturday, April 17th, as the day for opening the season for native game. The annual tennis match oetween teams picked from Thames players and members of the Painell Club (Auckland), is to take place on Mr Clendon's lawn next Saturday. It is said by the "Tribune" that almost all the nominations for the Ohinemuri Licensing Committee are informal, as one of the nominators is not an elector.
Captains Gibbons and Shaw, of the steimtis Ohinemuri andTerranora, which arrived from Auckland last evening reported that the sea in the gulf wax rougher last evening than they had knenn for some time.
