Turkey and Greece.
(Per Press Association.) Paris, March 17. The Crown Prince of Greece has been placed in command of the Greek troops in Thessaly. The insurgents and Greeks hold the entire interior of Crete. The Admirals of the foreign fleets have relieved the Moslems besieged by the Cretan insurgents at Riassamo and Castelli. The Turks pillaged the Christian villages outside Retimo. London, March 18. Sir Vernon Harcourt, in a speech at Norwich, referring to the action of the Powers towards Greece, said that the Powers had might, but Greece had right. He also stated that Lord Salisbury was covering Britain with shame. Athens, March 18. Colonel Vassos has been ordered to entrench Sphakua, a small island close to the south coast of Greece. . ' Sydney, March 19. PATRIOTIC GREEKS.
A number of Greek residents in the the city offered the Consul to pay their own passages to Greece in order to fight for her in the effort to deliver Crete from the Turks. .. The Consul considers it is unfair the Powers should try to coerce Greece for attempting to prevent misrule and cruelty to her own flesh and blood in Crete.
