Suicide on the Clansman.

AN AUSTRIAN HANGS HIMSELF (Per Press Association.) Auckland, March 19. An Austrian named Mark Bionqrick, on his way to Auckland from Mongonui to stand his trial for attempted rape, .committed suicide' by hanging himself on the steamer Clansman. He had been locked up by himself at ten last night, and was seen sound asleep. Constable Dunne entered the cabin at five o'clock this morning and found the prisoner hanging from the roof dead, having strangled himself with straps torn off the life-belts in the cabin. An hour before the cook heard him groauing and swearing, but took no notice.
